Barring any major changes, Linus Ullmark will win the Vezina Trophy and one former Bruin recently shared his feelings about the goalie's season.
Will It Ever Be Matched?
Ullmark became just the sixth goaltender in NHL history to win the 'Triple Crown'' for leading the league in wins (40), GAA (1.89) and SV% (.938). He also became the fastest goalie ever to 20, 30 and 40 wins in a single season, and he accomplished it in just 48 games.
Leading to former Boston netminder and current NESN analyst, Andrew Raycroft, to make a bold statement about how dominant Ullmark's season was:
''Linus Ullmark winning 40 games in 48 starts will never be matched again. Nuts''
Ullmark finished with an overall record of 40-6-1. Only Alexandar Georgiev of the Avalanche can tie him in wins. Sitting at 39 on the season, Colorado and Georgiev are currently leading the Predators 3-1.
*For reference, Georgiev took 62 games to (maybe) reach 40 wins.
