Former First Round Pick Gets Claimed Off Of Waivers
In a surprising move, the Vegas Golden Knights have acquired 22-year-old defenseman Tobias Bjornfot off waivers from the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings placed Bjornfot on waivers as they recalled Brandt Clarke from the AHL's Ontario Reign, signaling their willingness to part with the young blueliner.
Bjornfot, selected 22nd overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, has had limited NHL opportunities, with just one game this season and 10 games last season. Despite success in the AHL, transitioning to the NHL has proven challenging.
Expected to join the Golden Knights' third defensive pairing, Bjornfot's addition brings both anticipation and tempered expectations among fans.
