Some horrible news has just surfaced for Boston Bruins top prospect Fabian Lysell.

Moments before the Providence Bruins were ready to take the ice for tonight's game against the Laval Rockets, it was announced that Boston Bruins top prospect would not be in the lineup for the game.

The reason for this is he suffered an injury, now it has not been revealed on what the injury was or how long he will be out for, but the Bruins placed Riley Duran back into the lineup in for Lysell.

Fabian Lysell is injured and won't play for Providence Bruins tonight in Laval

Riley Duran returns to lineup, as does Jordan Oesterle, who missed last 3 with injury

This is horrible news for Fabian Lysell as the Bruins have been watching him closely to see how he is progressing, and he was slated to be one of the first players to get called up if the Bruins suffered an injury.

A lot of people thought Fabian Lysell was going to take the 2nd line right-wing spot since losing Jake DeBrusk in the off-season, but the Boston Bruins thought he would benefit from developing more down in the American Hockey League.

Hopefully his injury isn't too bad and he can return to the lineup soon and keep making progress towards making the Bruins roster.

Here is the Providence Bruins lineup for their game tonight:

Tufte-Brown-Lettieri
Viel-Farinacci-Duran
