Injured: Joe Sacco Issued An Update On Boston Bruins Forward Mark Kastelic
Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco issued an update on Mark Kastelic after being injured from taking a cross-check to the face.
During their meeting against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Boston Bruins forward Mark Kastelic was injured after taking a cross-check to the face from Tampa Bay Lightning's Emil Lilleberg.
After reviewing the play, the officials handed out a major penalty to Lilleberg and a game misconduct for the cross-check on Mark Kastelic.
Many believed that Lilleberg was going to get a hearing and or disciplined from the NHL Department of Player Safety, but there was no announcement today regarding the matter.
Doesn't sound like Lilleberg is getting any supplemental discipline for crosscheck to Kastelic's chin last night.
After missing today's practice with the Boston Bruins as they are preparing to take on the Florida Panthers on Saturday, Boston Bruins interim head coach had this to say about Mark Kastelic's status:
«He didn't practice, obviously, so we're taking it day by day with him,» Sacco told reporters Friday, per a team-provided video. «He got caught up in that incident and then rocked his head on the ice. We're just taking it day by day and see how he feels.»
If Mark Kastelic does not dress up for the Boston Bruins in their game against the Florida Panthers tomorrow, it is more then likely going to be Marc McLaughlin filling in for him in the Bruins lineup.
The Boston Bruins have lost six games in a row after their loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning Thursday night, and they will be looking to end that Saturday when they face off against one of their biggest rivals.
Puck drop for the Bruins-Panthers game at Amerant Bank Arena is scheduled for 1pm ET.
