With NHL free agency just a week away, the Boston Bruins are facing important decisions and considering multiple options.

The team's management acknowledged the need for changes following their unexpected early exit from the Stanley Cup playoffs and the salary cap constraints they are up against.

One key factor in their plans is the future of veteran players Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci. The Bruins have assured them the necessary time to make their decisions while also making the necessary moves to shape the team.

Retaining newcomers like Tyler Bertuzzi and Dmitry Orlov is a priority for the Bruins, and they are also exploring potential options in the trade market. According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, Calgary Flames forward Tyler Toffoli will be available for trade. Toffoli, 31 years old, does not have a specific destination in mind and remains open to possibilities, as reported by Chris Johnson of TSN.

If Toffoli is indeed traded, it would mark his fifth team in his 13-year career. He has one year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $4.25 million based on a $3.5 million base salary, according to Spotrac. Toffoli has a Stanley Cup win with the Los Angeles Kings in 2014 and recently secured his second gold medal with Team Canada at the IIHF World Championship. Last season, he recorded 73 points, including 10 power-play goals, while playing for the Flames.

Many believe Toffoli would be a valuable addition as a winger for Jim Montgomery's team, including Kourtney Turner, who expressed her thoughts with an "Ahem, (Bruins)" quote-tweet. Her husband, Boston Red Sox slugger Justin Turner, showed his endorsement by retweeting her tweet.

Toffoli shares a close friendship with the Turner family from their time together in Los Angeles. When Justin Turner asked fans to vote for Toffoli into the NHL All-Star Game, the Flames forward participated in a charity hockey game for the Justin Turner Foundation.

In the past, Toffoli has shown his affinity for Boston, and he jokingly mentioned the possibility of becoming a Red Sox fan when Justin Turner signed with the team, according to the Calgary Sun.

While Toffoli has ties to Boston, it ultimately falls on the Bruins front office to determine if he is a suitable fit for the team and how much they are willing to give up in a potential trade for the talented forward.
