Jeremy Swayman Issues An Apology Following Bruins Win
After the Bruins' fifth straight win, Jeremy Swayman looked happy but a bit sorry. In the early third period, while trying to move the puck down the boards, he accidentally hit a referee, briefly stopping the game.
Swayman and Charlie McAvoy helped the ref before play resumed at TD Garden. Despite his great 21-save game against the Winnipeg Jets, the All-Star goalie apologized for the incident, saying sorry to the referee and understanding how it feels.
"I felt so bad, I hit a boy in stripes tonight. I felt so bad," Swayman said after the game. "We were laughing the whole game together. He's gonna have a nice bruise by the NHL logo on his shoulder. I told him I've been there, though. I really feel bad. So, sorry, bud."
Luckily, this mistake was rare, and Swayman aims to keep the Bruins' winning streak going against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday.
