It's true the Boston Bruins star players have not done their job in the first four games of the season, but Jim Montgomery is not taking any accountability, instead he is calling out his stars.
The Boston Bruins have played the Florida Panthers twice now in their first four games, and while they didn't get embarrassed this time like they did during their season opener against the Florida Panthers, they still lost to them without two of their best players in the lineup.
Moments before the game, Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice announced some game changing injures. Maurice announced both Alexander Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk would be out for the game against the Boston Bruins.
Following the game, Jim Montgomery spoke to the media and stated that the Bruins top-six is not doing enough, and they aren't doing their jobs, while the bottom-six guys are outperforming them.
Montgomery believes this is due to the bottom-six guys are not getting caught up in the theatrics, like the top-six guys are.
The Boston Bruins have been allowing the Florida Panthers to play their game by letting them get inside the Bruins players heads, and it's worked so far in the two first meetings between the two teams.
The Bruins made this game a closer game then last one, losing 4-3, but all three goals came from when the Bruins fourth line was on. The top lines need to find a way to start producing.
