Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco just issued a major announcement regarding Hampus Lindholm and his injury.

Hampus Lindholm has now been out for well over a month after suffering an injury on November 12th when the Bruins faced the St. Louis Blues.

Hampus Lindholm blocked a shot from Justin Faulk, which would end up fracturing his knee, and originally Lindholm was given a six week timeline to return to the Bruins lineup, but it's been well over the expected timeline he was given.

Here is the shot that fractured Lindholm's knee:

Now Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco has issued a huge update on Hampus Lindholm.

Bruins head coach Joe Sacco spoke with the media today following their morning skate and ahead of their game vs the New York Rangers and stated that Lindholm is still not close to returning.

Sacco stated he has not started skating yet, he is getting closer to being back on the ice, but there is not exact time frame.

From Sacco:

Joe Sacco on Hampus Lindholm:

»Not skating yet, getting closer to being on the ice, don't have an exact time."

There hasn't been a update on Lindholm in awhile, but this is still bad news for the Bruins.

Hopefully the Bruins do not rush his return, although it would be nice to get him back into the lineup ASAP, when he does return he should be 100% so there is no risk of him re-injuring himself.

Do you think Hampus Lindholm will be back in the Bruins lineup before the end of the month?
