Leon Draisaitl heading to the Boston Bruins just took an unexpected turn after a report was made today.

After the Edmonton Oilers were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Finals by the Florida Panthers, there has been a lot of speculation on what is going to happen in the future with Oilers star Leon Draisaitl.

It was reported that if Leon Draisaitl were to hit the free agent market, that the Boston Bruins are the favourites to land the star forward, and they would finally have their number one center they have been looking for since Patrice Bergeron retired last year.

The 2 Mutts Hockey Podcast just reported that the Oilers will be re-signing Draisaitl and it will be between $13.3-$13.5 million on an 8-year deal.

Although nothing is official and anything can happen, there were several reports during the off-season this year that stated his future with the Edmonton Oilers is undetermined.

Only time will tell, as for Bruins fans you just have to hope that this isn't true and he decides to test out the free agent market.
