Major Development In The Boston Bruins Adding A Top Goal Scorer To Their Roster
A major development has surfaced in the Boston Bruins shopping for a top goal scorer closer to the trade deadline.
Tommy Bennett of The Hockey Writers has recently released an article of the Boston Bruins wish list for the 2024-25 season with Christmas quickly approaching.
The first thing Tommy Bennett stated during the article was the Boston Bruins adding a legit top goal scorer. The Boston Bruins are one of the worst goal scoring teams in the league despite having someone like David Pastrnak on their roster.
As of right now the Boston Bruins currently rank 27th in the league in five-on-five goal scoring (57) and are ranked 25th in all situations (88).
Under Joe Sacco, the Boston Bruins have become a low-event team offensively, but they have developed a strong shot suppressing defensive structure meaning the Bruins are built to win the tightly battled 2-1 or 3-2 games instead of blowing teams out of the water.
Adding a true dynamic goal scorer to the Bruins roster would make the team 10x better, as they currently sit in striking distance of first place in the Atlantic Division even though they currently have a negative goal differential.
David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand are carrying the Boston Bruins right now, and Pastrnak has led the team in goals for two straight years and has been the only player to score 30 or more goals.
Marchand currently leads the team in goals with 13, David Pastrnak right behind him with 12, and the next closest is Pavel Zacha with eight.
The Bruins do not have many finishers on their roster, and adding someone who is a goal scoring threat would make the Bruins more of a contender then they are right now.
It's unclear who will be available come the trade deadline, but the Bruins should be all over any true goal scorers that become available as the trade deadline approaches.
