With Matt Grzelcyk possibly leaving this summer, the Boston Bruins need to fill that gap. Well, Boston may have to look to free agency, as this defenseman may be available.
Canucks d-man Ian Cole and the organization have not agreed to a new contract yet. And by the looks of it, according to NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal, it seems to be heading in the direction that they won't.
The Bruins have $20 million in cap. If they'd be open to it, Cole would be a good addition to the penalty kill and can play on the left or right side of the blue line.
Ian had 11 points in 78 games with a +10 and is 35 years old.
