A few days ago, the NHL announced the nominees for the Norris trophy and it's causing quite a stir on social medias.

Erik Karlsson, Adam Fox and Cale Makar were the nominated players for the award given to the best defenseman in the league.

What's actually causing the said stir is that it seems other players should have been nominated.

NHL Snubs Two Bruins Players For Important Trophy Nomination

Both Charlie McAvoy and Elias Lindholm were snubbed by the league after their great season.

The staff over at nesn.com compared statistics from the nominees as well as Bruins' top d-line and there's no big difference between them.

"Stat for stat, were Lindholm or McAvoy snubbed in Norris Trophy nominations?"

Karlsson had more points, with 101. Makar had 66 and Fox had 72.

It's more than McAvoy (52) and Lindholm (53), but the Norris trophee isn't about the points, it's about the global qualities all-around the ice.

Lindholm dominated the plus/minus category in the entire league, with a plus-49.

Karlsson, on the other hand, was awful for that: he had a minus-26.

Fans are wondering why the Bruins' top guns were snubbed for the Norris and frankly, it's understandable.

Do you think McAvoy or Lindholm should have been nominated for the Norris?
