The Boston Bruins dominated the entire NHL this season, setting a record for the most wins. However, the Stanley Cup playoffs present a whole different challenge. The Bruins are realizing this as they face the Florida Panthers, who managed to stay alive on the shoulders of their goaltender, Sergei Bobrovsky, and an overtime goal by Matthew Tkachuk.
As the teams head back to Florida for game six, the Bruins remain optimistic despite the unexpected resistance. Bruins forward Nick Foligno shared in an interview:
"Our mindset for game 6 is it's obviously not what we wanted today. But that's the reality... I think we're excited about the opportunity we've gotten ourselves to have another Crack at it and fix some of the things we didn't have our best at yesterday."
Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery would also talk saying:
"I think for us it's knowing what we can improve on and being excited about another chance we've given ourselves to close this out. We're going down there with full intentions to do that.
- Jim Montgomery
I think the Bruins are obviously still the favorites but if the Panthers can pull off another win it would definitely put the seed of doubt into the Bruins going into a game seven of a series they should of won already.
