The Boston Bruins are in offseason mode, as the Florida Panthers are the NHL Champions. Draft day has passed and once again we survived free agency and teams saw what they had in the development camp.

During the offseason, we get to discuss fun things like this:

The Bruins are celebrating 100 years of hockey and have plenty of history to draw from, which is why NESN brought this topic up to discuss.

Should the Bruins revive these:

Men in Black Jerseys

After taking a year off from alternate jersey, the league reinstated them in 2008, which saw the Bruins bring back a jersey that paid tribute to the jersey from 1967-1974. They were obviously an instant hit.

They would wear them from 2008-20016, and the Bruins put the shoulder logo, as the crest which was a popular move. They would wear all black, wearing black socks with these jerseys as well.

The "Men In Black" jerseys would remind Bruins fans of a successful time in the franchise.

2023 Reverse Retro

Did you like the Pooh Bear of the 90s? Golden yellow, with the bear face on the crest and the reverse retro brought those back in 2023.

The original jersey was brought in during 1994-1995 when the Bruins moved to the Fleet Center and the first time the team had a golden jersey since 1965. The Bear on the crest was new, along with the team name on the shoulders.

The original brings up mixed feelings, but the reverse retro was a huge hit.

2021 Reverse Retro

The original reverse retro program in 2021, was a hit as the team went back to the 1980s to find a design to "retro". The Bruins went back to what was considered the "Meth Bear" but instead of white went with Gold.

The last special event jersey which was golden, was during the 2010 winter classic at Fenway Park. There were no other major changes, keeping the bear face as the shoulder patch. They would wear these at Lake Tahoe, the Bruins reverse retro program is popular with their designs.

Meth Bear

The Meth Bear jersey originally appeared during the 1981 season, and they could use this as a rebrand for the team. Much like the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings, reviving this jersey would be popular given how big the reverse retro programs were.

Ray Bourque and Cam Neely wore these, as it was worn from 1981-1995 and they had originally wore them in 1976, but made minor tweaks along the way.

Who doesn't love the retro, nostalgic flavor that the Bruins deliver on all their jerseys? Seeing Charlie McAvoy and David Pastrnak wear these would be amazing.

Centennial Jersey

The Centennial Jerseys were a part of their anniversary during their 2024 year season, celebrating 100 years. The team busted out a majestic kit for their 100th year, much like the Buffalo Sabres did for their 50th anniversary.

Brad Marchand would praise them:

«It speaks volumes to how incredible of an organization we have here, and I think we see it through all the guys that have a tremendous amount of pride to be part of this,» Marchand said. «This is very special.»

None of these jerseys were poorly designed and looked amazing on ice, the stripes were gold on all the jerseys, while both Black and White jerseys had the Centennial Patch, which the best part of the kit is that the three jerseys all together were better than two.

The brown helmets were a nice touch, and reviving these would be an amazing idea. It's just a shame they were only worn during the 2023-2024 season. These were better than the current set the team wears.
