An announcement today confirmed that a surprising player has been activated off of LTIR ahead of the Bruins-Islanders matchup tonight.

Both the Boston Bruins and New York Islanders are currently dealing with injuries right now as the Bruins are missing Charlie McAvoy, Hampus Lindholm and Trent Frederic.
The New York Islanders are missing Semyon Varlamov, Marcus Hogberg, Mike Reilly, Matt Martin, Matthew Barzal, and Noah Dobson, but they are expected to get a player back tonight ahead of their game.
The Boston Bruins made some roster changes ahead of their game vs the Islanders with the recent injury news of Trent Frederic, and now the New York Islanders are expected to do the same.
It was just confirmed today that Trent Frederic is going to miss sometime as he has been labelled as week-to-week according to Chris Johnston.
Trent Frederic is considered "week to week" after leaving Tuesday's #bruins game with a lower-body injury, but the sense is that it won't change any plans ahead of the trade deadline.

The pending UFA could still be moved.

Surprising Player Activated Off LTIR

Last night it was announced that the New York Islanders are activating Noah Dobson off of LTIR and he is expected to be in the Islanders lineup tonight for their game against the Boston Bruins.
With this it was also announced that Matthew Barzal was moved from IR to LTIR so the team had the necessary cap space to activate Dobson today.
Per #Isles media site, Noah Dobson has been activated out of LTIR.

He's expected to return to lineup vs. #NHLBruins on Thursday night.

Per @PuckPedia, Mathew Barzal had been transferred from IR to LTIR, which created the necessary cap space to activate Dobson.
Both teams had high hopes entering this season but are currently both out of a playoff spot.
Tonight is a massive game for the Boston Bruins as they could find themselves in a wildcard spot with a win over the Islanders.
