Maroon currently plays for the Chicago Blackhawks and they were playing the Dallas Stars last night. Well, Maroon caught Mavrik Bourque up high with an elbow against the boards. Pat got five and the game for it, and then the fine today that followed.
This isn't the first time Maroon has been fined and probably won't be the last time he'll be fined.
Pat is one of the few who still brings that physical play and it makes up for him not being too impressive point wise. He's big so he's not very fast, but he packs a punch when he gets to you.
Maroon is 36 years old and currently has one goal and eight assists for nine points on the season in 34 games played so far this season with Chicago. He's proved himself to be a valuable piece on the fourth line this year for the Blackhawks.
Maroon only played two games for the Boston Bruins last year and had zeroes across the slate after being traded to them by the Minnesota Wild. The return to Minnesota was Luke Toporowski and a draft pick in 2026.
The «Big Rig» is also a two-time, back-to-back Stanley Cup champion with the Tampa Bay Lightning in a four-year stint there, which is one of his longest ones.
Pat has been traded a total of five times in his career and has played on a whopping eight different teams in his long career. His last transaction was signing with Chicago over the off-season on a one-year, $1.3 million deal.
With Maroon's style of play, you can expect another fine or maybe even a suspension to come for him again this season.
