Mitchell Miller's brief stint with the Boston Bruins raised eyebrows as he earned compensation from a contract despite never stepping on the ice for the team.

In November of the previous year, Miller signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Bruins. However, just three months later, due to public pressure and media scrutiny, the team dropped him in February 2023, severing all ties.

Contrary to initial claims, it recently came to light that Miller's contract was officially terminated on April 30th, entitling him to compensation.

According to CapFriendly, he received nearly $167,000, an amount primarily based on playing in the minor leagues, even though he hadn't featured for the Providence Bruins.

Miller's journey has been controversial since his drafting by the Arizona Coyotes in 2020, and after incidents of bullying surfaced, the Coyotes renounced him, freeing him to explore other opportunities.

Despite playing for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL from 2019 to 2022, Miller did not take the ice anywhere last season.
