The offseason is winding down, and players who haven't been signed are looking to sign PTOs to get a shot at a spot in the lineup.

The Boston Bruins could take advantage of these two unsigned players, as Danton Heinen's PTO signing has paid off.

The two players available are Blake Wheeler and Kailer Yamamoto.

Blake Wheeler is the former Winnipeg Jets Captain and played in New York last season. He'd be out for the majority of the season, due to injuries and would return in time for the playoffs. He may not be a top-six forward anymore but could be a great addition to the bottom six.

He scored 21 points( 9 G, 12 A) in 54 games and would only register under 13 TOI and ironically was a 55-point winger in Winnipeg the season before. He'll be signed for cheap, and his veteran leadership during a deep run could prove to be valuable for the Bruins.

Yamamoto is a younger winger, who could prove to still be useful as he's a proven producer. He played top-6 minutes in Edmonton and his best season was a 20-goal, 41-point season in 2021-2022. He was a bottom-six role player in Seattle and was moved in and out of the lineup frequently. He could play a role on the fourth line here in Boston and has a tenacious style of play. And could be scratched should another prospect find a spot in the lineup.

There'd be no harm in signing either player to a PTO as they both have their skills and strengths that could offer something the Bruins need.
