The Boston Bruins seemed to use the rumour Rich Keefe started on Friday as fuel during their game against the Florida Panthers, as the Bruins finally snapped their six game losing streak after beating the Florida Panthers 4-3 in overtime.
The Bruins were holding a 3-2 lead late into the third period, but the Florida Panthers with the net empty was able to score the game tying goal with three seconds left in the third period to force overtime.
In overtime, the Bruins were given a power play after Sam Bennett was called for a high sticking penalty with under two minutes to play in overtime. With how the Bruins power play has been recently many didn't believe they were going to get anything out of it.
To the surprise of many, the Bruins ended up scoring on the power play which would also be their second power play goal of the game.
The goal came with just two seconds remaining in overtime from David Pastrnak after his intended pass went off a Panthers stick and went beat Bobrovsky.

The NHL recognized how late this goal came, and revealed that it was the latest goal scored by a time in overtime this season, the last time one was scored later then that was last year on March 16th, 2023 when the Colorado Avalanche scored with just one second remaining.
The NHL also recognized that the David Pastrnak goal was the lastest overtime goal scored in franchise history, with the previous mark being 4:56 which was scored by Mike Knuble on March 13th 2004.
