Gearing up for their first game after American Thanksgiving, the Boston Bruins currently have a 11-10-3 record, which is good for 3rd overall in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins are just barley holding on to a playoff spot with the Lightning just one point behind them with games in hand.
With that being said Don Sweeney should be looking at ways to make the roster better, and he could do that by potentially reuniting with some former Bruins members.
The first one being Taylor Hall, who has recently been linked to the Boston Bruins. With it being Hall's last year of his contract on a rebuilding team with the Blackhawks, there has been a lot of conversations about him becoming a trade candidate.
Earlier during this month Hall was healthy scratched by the Blackhawks and this only made trade talks heat up for the ex-Boston Bruin.
Taylor Hall hasn't been perfect this year as he has struggled a bit, in 21 games the former MVP winner has just nine points. During their most recent game against the Stars, Hall showed some promise by scoring a hat trick.
If the Bruins do pick up Hall and he continues to play how he has recently this could be a big pickup for the Bruins who are trying to make a push for the Stanley Cup.
The other former Bruin Don Sweeney could look at is Frank Vatrano. Vatrano is also on his last year of his contract with the Anaheim Ducks, and if made available, Don Sweeney should 100% consider bringing him back to the Bruins organization.
In 20 games this year, Vatrano has similar numbers to Taylor Hall with nine points, four goals, and five assists.
Vatrano fits the Bruins dynamic as a physical forward who isn't afraid to throw the body. Just last season Vatrano had set career highs with 37 goals, 23 assists, 60 points along with 156 hits.
The Bruins should take a look at both of these players if they are made available.
