The Boston Bruins triumphed over the Toronto Maple Leafs in seven games in round one, but unfortunately fell short to the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Bruins need to do a little revamp and have a couple holes to fill, and after Doug Armstrong's announcement, GM of the St. Louis Blues, they may have found a couple targets.
Sammy Blais, 28 years old, really struggled this season. He had only seven points in a shortened 53-game season. Blais got off to a hot start last year, having 20 points in 31 games last year for the Blues after being traded and held off the scoresheet on the New York Rangers. Maybe all he needs to get going is a change of scenery, and Boston can offer that.
Marco Scandella, a veteran at 34 years old, tallied eight points in 65 games with a +2 last season. If he were to come on the Bruins, he'd add some veteran presence and would be a nice cheap option on the back end of things.
