It was announced yesterday that the St. Louis Blues offer sheeted two players off the Edmonton Oilers.
It's not too often you see offer sheets in the NHL anymore, and yesterday we saw the St. Louis Blues submit two offer sheets to a pair of RFAs on the Edmonton Oilers.
Fran Seravalli reported that the Blues sent offer sheets to Oilers Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway. With this being confirmed it gives the Edmonton Oilers seven days to match the offer or both players will be suiting up for a new team next year.
The reported contracts are as follows:
Dylan Holloway, 2 years at $2,290,457 cap hit.
Philip Broberg, 2 years at $4,580,917 cap hit.
If in 7 days the Edmonton Oilers don't match the contract they will officially be apart of the St. Louis Blues organization.
This makes things interesting as there has been a lot of speculation around the fact that a team may try and offer sheet Jeremy Swayman, who is currently a RFA and has yet to sign a contract with the Boston Bruins.
Although it is unlikely that this will happen, there is always a chance that a team could offer sheet Swayman, and the Bruins would lose him.
