Florida Panthers Stanley Cup Champions dad tragically passed away
A former member of the Florida Panthers, who just won the Stanley Cup shared some heartbreaking news following the passing of his father.
It was announced today that Vladimir Tarasenko's father, Andrei Tarasenko has passed away at the age of 55.
A report was made out of Russia that Andrei Tarasenko, just weeks after watching his son win his second Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers has passed away at the young age of 55.
"Andrei Tarasenko is a native of Novosibirsk. In his youth, he was a player for the local SKA, and then for many years he defended the colors of Yaroslavl Torpedo and Togliatti Lada, where he was recognized as the top scorer and most valuable player of the Russian championship. In the 2001/2002 season, Tarasenko returned to his hometown and helped Sibir reach the Super League, scoring 75 points in 67 matches."
Andrei had a successful hockey career, and decided to coach in the KHL after calling it a career.

I offer my deepest condolences to Vladimir and Valentin Tarasenko, all the relatives and friends of Andrei Vladimirovich, the hockey club Sibir, and all Novosibirsk fans." - Roman Rotenberg, Championat.com Vladimir is now signed with the Detroit Red Wings where he will pair up once again with Patrick Kane, and try to take another shot at winning the Stanley Cup for his father.
