Last year talks of the Ottawa Senators relocating started to surface, and it seems like that is now going to actually happen. Reports have suggested that the Senators will be moving out of the Canadian Tire Center and could move to the LeBreton Flats next.
The Canadian Tire Center has been home for the Ottawa Senators since 1996 when, sadly though the arena was just built in a terrible place outside of the city of Ottawa and in the middle of nowhere, and it isn't a convenient place for fans.
Many insiders have stated that the deal could be closed soon, as soon as the next couple of days. The relocation of a team takes time, and this would be just the first step the Ottawa Senators need to do to get this done, but the team has stated they want to be in their new arena by 2030 the latest.
When Michael Andlauer purchased the Ottawa Senators he was given a timeline of one year to negotiate a new deal for this arena, and that date is quickly approaching.
It seems as if he is going to keep his promise as things are starting to move along on this new arena.
