Every NHL team needs veteran leadership and presence on the roster, no matter whether you're rebuilding or contending.

That free agent, who is also an NHL Iron Man wants to play this season in the league and is looking for an opportunity through a PTO or just an invite through training camp.

Phil Kessel is only eight points away from 1000 and 13 games away from 1300. His last season in the NHL saw him secure another Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights, scoring 36 points in 82 games.

Sportsnets Elliotte Friedman would mention Phil Kessel on 32 Thoughts.

«he's legitimate about it. That three-on-three league that was supposed to start up but didn't, I heard Kessel was one of those guys they were really talking to about playing there. He wants to play, he loves hockey and he wants to play. I don't know if this is going to happen, but it's very, very legitimate that he wants to play.»

One team that could end up signing Phil Kessel for the 2024-2025 regular season could be the club he started out in the NHL with, the Boston Bruins.

Since the Bruins lost out on a chance with Kailer Yamamoto who landed a PTO in Utah. The Bruins will need to deepen the ranks and they could come back to Phil The Thrill in order to add to the core.

Signing Kessel, could take some pressure off of Elias Lindholm, as this is his first season in Boston, and distract away from the Jeremy Swayman situation.

Besides who doesn't love a good old homecoming? They made movies about it.
