NHL Player Safety Disciplines Most Hated Goaltender
In the midst of NHL Player Safety's recent flurry of disciplinary actions, another incident has come to light involving St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington.
The league has slapped Binnington with a hefty $5,000 fine for high-sticking Nashville Predators player Luke Evangelista, the maximum allowable under the CBA.
Video footage of the incident circulated, sparking debate over Binnington's intent. Despite claims that it was unintentional, Binnington's past infractions didn't bode well for leniency.
The timing of the incident, occurring late in the game after a frustrating performance by Binnington, only adds fuel to the speculation surrounding his actions.
