A Member of The Athletic ranks Michkov ahead of Bedard as the top player
As the NHL draft approaches, various experts and commentators in the hockey community share their opinions and rankings of the available players. While they are usually accurate in predicting the draft order, sometimes they offer unconventional or incorrect assessments. Nonetheless, it's always enjoyable to witness and hear where these players are projected to be selected.
Corey Pronman, an NHL analyst affiliated with The Athletic, holds the belief that Matvei Michkov, a talented right-wing player from Russia, deserves the first overall pick over Connor Bedard. This opinion goes against the consensus among most experts, who have identified Bedard as the clear frontrunner.
Pronman bases his view on his frequent observations of Michkov's performances, but it is highly unlikely that the Chicago Blackhawks will deviate from the expected choice of Bedard.
Personally, I also believe that Michkov possesses immense potential as a winger and has drawn comparisons to the next Alexander Ovechkin.
Considering the depth of talent in this draft, which is regarded as one of the richest in the past two decades, I anticipate that both teams and fans will be treated to the emergence of these exceptional players on the NHL stage.
