Rumours around the league are that the Colorado Avalanche are prioritizing UFA's Nazem Kadri, Valeri Nichushkin and Darcy Kuemper, over others such as Nico Sturm, Andre Burakovsky and veteran Darren Helm.
David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period' reports that the Boston Bruins are heavily interested in signing one of the Avs pending UFA forwards:
Burakovsky is coming off a season where he recorded 22 goals and 39 assists for 61 points in 80 games.
The now two-time Stanley Cup champion, at just 27 years old, recently ended a two-year contract with Colorado that had a cap hit of $4.9 million.
It's believed his next contract will be in the range of $5-$7 million per season.
The Bruins would obviously have to move some contracts to make money work, but the club may also start the season with a lot of money on the LTIR.
