The Boston Bruins and their fans received terrific news on Sunday when Brad Marchand also appeared in his first team practice, wearing a non-contact sweater.

And apparently, he wasn't holding back:

As we all know, Marchand underwent a procedure on both hips this offseason and had an expected return date of mid to late November. His recent participation in the Bruins' team skates is nothing but positive, but it doesn't exactly mean he'll return any sooner than initially expected.

Marchand spoke to the media after practice and discussed how the skate was more of a ''mental victory'' than anything.

''I feel really good. It was more of a mental victory than anything.''

''It's been a long four months, and it was gonna be an easy practice for the guys, so I begged them enough to let me jump in there with them. It gets tiring and old being out there by yourself. [Charlie McAvoy's] out there. But having a group of guys and being back with the team is a completely different feeling.''

''Just with it being an easy day, was able to get back out there and do everything that they did. It was just skating stuff, the same thing I was gonna do by myself. Put a couple by [Jeremy Swayman].''

The 34-year-old also participated in team practice on Monday morning but still has a long way to go in his recovery. Watch his media coverage below:
