The Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks pulled off a trade late Friday night, swapping a defenseman and a forward.

As per Canucks PR:

''Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that defenceman Riley Stillman has been acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for forward Jason Dickinson and a second-round draft pick (2024).''

Dickinson, 27, was originally selected 29th overall by the Dallas Stars in 2013 and has been a third/fourth liner during his career. In 283 NHL games, the Ontario native has registered 30 goals and 44 assists. Last season was his only one with the Canucks, where he collected 5 goals and 6 assists in 65 games played.

Stillman, 24, was a 2016 fourth-round (114th overall) pick of the Florida Panthers. He was part of the trade that sent former Bruins forward Brett Connolly to the Panthers in 2021. In 108 career games, the defenseman has 3 goals and 15 assists.
