Puck Empire (@puckempire) on Instagram shared a post of TSN's Bob McKenzie and his history of projecting the number one pick in the NHL Entry Draft.
Of course some years are probably easier than other to predict, but even some scouts had Jack Eichel ahead of Connor McDavid in the 2015 draft.
Puck Empire caption for the post is as such:
''I went as far back as I could find for Bob McKenzie's draft projections, and from 2009 to present day, he has never predicted the first overall pick wrong.
Today, he listed Juraj Slafkovsky over Shane Wright for #1..'' This comes a few days after McKenzie's final rankings for 2022 had Juraj Slafkovsky ahead of Shane Wright for number one overall for the first time.
Will Bob McKenzie be right again?
