The Boston Bruins completed a massive comeback Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins, but it may have come at a costly price.
Although the Bruins scored four unanswered goals to win 6-5 in overtime, they lost defenseman Derek Forbort and goaltender Jeremy Swayman to injuries. The club cancelled Wednesday's practice, so we'll have to wait for confirmation, but recent news suggests that both players are out for the next little while.
As per CapFriendly Transactions, Boston called up goaltender Keith Kinkaid from Providence of the AHL on an emergency basis.
Also, based on the NHL's official website, Forbort has been placed on the injured reserve, meaning he will be out for at least seven days.
As we stated above, there was no media availability from the Bruins today because of the cancelled practice. We should get more clarity on the injuries at Thursday's morning skate, which takes place at 11 am EST.
