Over the next several days, we'll be breaking down the top-five prospects in the Boston Bruins organization, up next the number three prospect.
3. Mason Lohrei (D)
Lohrei was drafted in the second round (58th overall) by the Boston Bruins in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
The 21-year-old impressed at Ohio State last season, recording 4 goals and 25 assists in 31 games in the NCAA, and he will also be returning there for 2022-23. His poise with the puck is particularly notable, especially for a defenseman that is 6'4'' and 195lbs.
As per Adam McQuaid:
''I think he took a big step this year on the defensive side of his game He wants to work at that. He knows he has to work at that. Stick details have really improved.''
'A really interesting combination to have that size with that offensive ability and the commitment to want to continue to get better defensively. There's a lot of hope for him. An exciting prospect for us.''
Projected NHL arrival: Next season
