Not only is Hockey Canada in the middle of a full-blown scandal but, as we reported yesterday, attendance numbers have been a joke, to say the least.
The tournament has been pleasant to some players however, and Team USA forward Thomas Bordeleau is one of them!
The San Jose Sharks prospect was cut from the roster for the past two tournaments before cracking the lineup for this summer's edition. Bordeleau was heartbroken last December ; after making the team, it was announced he would be cut since his hotel roommate contracted COVID and both men had to be held away from the rest of the squad.
Bordeleau didn't let that affect his game; he finished a 37-game campaign with the Michigan Wolverines with 37 points and a berth in the NCAA championship final. He then suited up for 8 outings with the Sharks, recording 5 assists in the process.
With that said, Bordeleau has been enjoying life to the fullest since then! As a matter of fact, he's been having so much fun that he was even caught by a mic'd up referee prior to his game against Sweden last night.
Here's what Team USA's top-line center had to say before puck-drop:
You can bet that thanks to his play - and now his words - Bordeleau has been making his momma proud!
