One growing trend in the NHL is the inconsistency of its officials, on and off the ice.

That was evident in Saturday's matchup between the Bruins and Capitals, and Brad Marchand was not happy for more than one questionable call.
More specifically, an even-up call after he was cross checked hard by Evgeny Kuznetsov after digging for a loose puck with Darcy Kuemper.
''I thought the puck was loose. Apparently it wasn't. I think they had a tough night tonight.''

Not only that, but Marchand appeared visibly annoyed of that fact that NHL officials have been so inconsistent. Citing that players have no clue what they can, and can't do on the ice.
''They called a really, really suspect call on Coyle early in the game. If you're gonna call it like that, then you can't let some of the stuff go that they let go. That's part of the problem just this whole year, they're really inconsistent. They'll make a call like that, but then Hallsy gets hauled down in front of the net in the second period and there's nothing. That has nothing to do with the outcome of the game, but they had a tough night.''

‘'Just around the league, either you call everything chintzy like they did on CC and Lindy, or you let it all go. It can't be half and half throughout the game. Guys have no idea what they can and can't do. But that's part of it.''

Although the veteran kept his cool through the first 10 games of the season (0 penalty minutes), he's now up to 42 PIMS in 44 games.
