It's no blockbuster deal but it sure adds some size and grit to the Bruins backend.
Josh Brown is on his way to Beantown along with the Ottawa Senators 2022 seventh-round pick. In exchange for the 6'5'' defenseman, Boston had to give up Zach Senyshyn and its 2022 fifth rounder.
Brown has already showed the Bruins executives that he is a capable defender who loves to throw his weight around:
The London, Ontario native will add some depth on the Bruins blue line and can fill in on the team's third pairing if need be. Brown is also capable of standing up for himself and his teammates when the time is right:
In that department, Brown might be able to give Trent Frederic a night off or two, allowing the young third-liner to continue his terrific offensive play.
We don't know when the giant-sized defender will be making his start with the B's. But let's hope he brings all kinds of entertainment!
