Boston Bruins general manager, Don Sweeney, announced the club has signed a former first-round pick to an Amateur Tryout Agreement.
This morning (Wednesday, April 13th), the announcement was made that forward prospect Johnny Beecher has decided to leave the NCAA.
Drafted 30th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Beecher has spent the past three seasons with the University of Michigan.
The 21-year-old will start his professional career on a tryout with Boston's affiliate, the Providence Bruins of the AHL. Sweeney stated that the two sides are still working on the option of signing his Entry-Level Contract (ELC).
The 6'3", 209 lb centre had 19 goals and 20 assists in 81 games during his college career.
