The Boston Bruins desperately need a win when they're back on home ice for game three against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Although one thing that has been good for the Bruins is goaltending, it appears that head coach Bruce Cassidy will be switching things up. He announced Thursday morning that rookie Jeremy Swayman will be starting his first career playoff game on Friday night.

I don't believe this is a knock on Linus Ullmark or anything to do with how he has played because, frankly, he's been one of, if not Boston's, best player through the first two games of the series. The Bruins have looked very dull so far in this best-of-seven against a strong Hurricanes team.

The Carolina Hurricanes have outscored the Boston Bruins 10-3 so far in the series, so this move by Bruce Cassidy is nothing more than a way to try and spark his team.

The Bruins will look to dig out of a 2-0 hole in the series, starting Friday night at TD Garden in Boston.
