The Boston Bruins will officially be without a key piece of their lineup for game three on Friday night.

Bruce Cassidy announced Thursday morning that defenseman Hampus Lindholm will not play game three back at TD Garden in Boston. As we all know, Lindholm took a very hard hit from Carolina Hurricanes' forward Andrei Svechnikov and was forced to leave the game with an upper-body injury.

Cassidy stated Lindholm was able to travel with the team back home, however:

This news does not come as much surprise as Lindholm was visibly shaken and had a hard time standing on his own feet. Goaltender Linus Ullmark had to rush behind the net to make sure he did fall hard onto the ice again.

Although this isn't a surprise, it is still terrible news to hear. The upper-body injury he sustained is very likely to do with the head, and hopefully, it's nothing too severe as Lindholm could miss significant time. Even though it will be hard to have him out of the lineup, the Bruins have to be cautious with a head injury, no matter who the player is.
