The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney had some tough news to announce on Tuesday.
Sweeney gave an update regarding injured defenseman Charlie McAvoy, and the youngster is expected to miss at least four weeks minimum.
The 20 year old sprained his left MCL during the first period of Saturday's game against the Montreal Canadiens in Boston. He'll be re-evaluated in four weeks, so he'll be out for the rest of season and hopefully ready for the first round of the playoffs.
Nothing is guaranteed with a sprained MCL though and the Bruins will likely be careful with the youngster.
Brandon Carlo is expected to step up and eat the extra minutes on the blueline, hopefully it'll help him bounce back from a tough last couple of months for Carlo.
