As reported by "Black N Gold Productions" (@BlackandGold277) founder and CEO Mark Allred on Twitter, a member of the Boston Bruins coaching staff will not be returning to the team next season.
Allred reported early Wednesday morning that there are rumblings around the organization that assistant coach Kevin Dean will not return for the 2022-23 NHL season.
Prior to the 201112 season, Dean was named an assistant coach with the Providence Bruins of the AHL and was named head coach on July 18, 2016. One season later, he was again promoted within the Bruins organization to be an assistant coach with the Boston Bruins.
As a player, Dean played in the NHL with the New Jersey Devils, Atlanta Thrashers, Dallas Stars and Chicago Blackhawks. The defenseman recorded 7 goals and 48 assists in 331 career games.
This is massive news as there are plenty of high-level coaches on the market, and the Bruins should be looking for a fresh perspective for their powerplay.
