Captain Patrice Bergeron's future still undecided, making Brad Marchand an even more important piece in Boston. With three years remaining on his $6,125,000 contract, you could probably guess that any team in the NHL would love to have him.
Tuesday, May 31st marked the end of a Full No-Movement Clause (NMC) that the two sides agreed upon when Marchand's contract was signed. He'll have to provide the Bruins a list of six teams he would be willing to be traded to. The Bs are unlikely to trade him, but if they decide on a rebuild, Marchand should provide a nice return.
Marchand's salary will be just $2,000,000 with bonuses totalling $3,000,000 plus. After 2022-23, the list grows to a 15-team no-trade list, but in the final year of the deal, the list changes back down to eight teams. The cap hit stays the same throughout the deal.
