The controversy from the Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues series was the collision between Nazem Kadri and goaltender Jordan Binnington in game three of their series, and didn't return for the rest of the round.

The even more considerable controversy was when Binnington supposedly threw a water bottle at Kadri while the Avalanche forward was doing a post-game interview.

Rewatch it here:

The Blues goaltender was asked today about the incident and responded for the first time if the reports were accurate. He confirmed he did throw the bottle, saying:

"I went to get my knee checked out mid-game. I was coming back to the rink, and the game just ended. Walking down the hallway, I couldn't find a recycling bin on my way down the hallway ... Right before I walked into the locker room, I see him kind of doing an interview there, smiling, laughing, and I'm there in a knee brace limping down the hallway. I just felt like it was a God-given opportunity."

My favourite part is how he said it was "A God-given opportunity."

Is it just me, or does this just make Binnington sound more like a baby? And kind of like he was just throwing a tantrum. Especially since the collision was a complete accident and Kadri was never given a penalty on the play or supplementary discipline by the league,
