Eeli Tolvanen claimed off waivers

The Nashville Predators made a shocking decision when they placed 23-year-old Eeli Tolvanen on waivers Sunday.

And to probably nobody's surprise, the former first rounder was claimed before Monday's 2 pm deadline.

As per TSN's Chris Johnston:

Tolvanen was once a very highly-touted prospect in Nashville's organization and it seems odd they would give him up for nothing like this.

He's still only 23, with plenty of time to find his full potential, or who knows, maybe the Predators are onto something.
