Nashville Predators lock up pending top free agent

The Nashville Predators have signed their biggest pending free agent to a long term deal.
As per their official Twitter (@PredsNHL) the club has signed forward Filip Forsberg to an eight-year, $68 million ($8.5 million AAV) contract extension to stay with the Predators.
Forsberg, 27, was drafted 11th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals but has spent his entire playing career in Nashville.
In 566 career games, the Swede has recorded 220 goals and 249 assists for a total of 469 points. Including a career-best of 42 goals and 42 assists last season.
