The New York Rangers finally have a new captain!
The team has been without a captain since Ryan McDonagh was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning back in 2018.
Early this morning, the club officially named their new team captain:
Jacob Trouba has been named as the 28th captain in Rangers franchise history.
He joins some legends such as Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Jaromir Jagr, Brian Leetch and Phil Esposito to captain the Blue Shirts.
