Josh Brown was acquired from the Ottawa Senators last Monday, hours before the trade deadline.

The Sens sent Brown and a conditional seventh-round pick to the Boston Bruins in exchange for Zach Senyshyn and a fifth-round selection.

While Brown has yet to suit up for the Bruins, the 6'5'' blueliner should be making his Bruins debut in the coming week. Head Coach Bruce Cassidy mentioned that he has given it some thought earlier today.

Cassidy said that, at some point over the next week or so, he is likely to insert defenseman Mike Reilly and Josh Brown into the lineup, most likely together as a pair.

"Maybe Thursday or Saturday," said Cassidy. "They do have to get in soon. Let's get through [Tuesday] night's game and see how everyone looks on the back end. But we're certainly contemplating a two-for-two switch because they've started working together. Could be a complementary pair."

In other words, Cassidy will most likely switch out his bottom pairing of Derek Forbort and Connor Clifton in order to reinsert Mike Reilly in the lineup and to allow Brown to finally get his shot.

Reilly had been playing alongside Charlie McAvoy on the top pair for most of the season, but lost that spot when Hampus Lindholm arrived in town. Now that Reilly and Brown have skated together for a few practices, look for Cassidy to roll out the pair shortly.

The Bruins play three home games this week ; they host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday, the New Jersey Devils on Thursday and then the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.
