Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand have been the core of the Boston Bruins for a long time now, and several stats show why they're two of the greatest players to play in the NHL.
And there's a new stat that freelance writer Dan Kelley recently revealed on Twitter that makes the two look even better:
''There have been 27 players in NHL history with at least 250 goals, 250 assists and a plus/minus of +250.''
''Only 2 are still active.''
Of course, those two active players are Bergeron (423 G, 607 A, +285) and Marchand (370 G, 479 A, +289). The next closest active players are as follows:
Sidney Crosby - 544 G, 938 A, +208
Joe Pavelski - 436 G, 544 A, +179
David Krejci - 228 G, 552 A, +163
The next closest player regarding plus/minus is defenseman Ryan McDonagh of the Nashville Predators, who is currently +233.
Bergeron and Marchand aren't the only Bruins that are among the 27 in NHL history, as the franchise's alumni are also well represented:
Bobby Orr - 264 G, 624 A, +574
Ray Bourque - 395 G, 1111 A, +493
Phil Esposito - 459 G, 553 A, +306
Wayne Cashman - 277 G, 516 A, +278
Ken Hodge - 289 G, 385 A, +264
