Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman is poised to receive a qualifying offer, ensuring his continued presence in the Black and Gold for the foreseeable future.

The restricted free agent expressed his commitment to the team during an interview with 92.9 The Ticket's "The Morning Roast." When asked about the contract negotiations, Swayman replied,

"Just taking it one day at a time. It's an exciting time to be part of this team. I truly believe that we have something special brewing for the upcoming years, and I want to do everything I can to remain a Bruin. I have immense pride in wearing that Spoked-B."

Despite the Bruins' elimination by the Florida Panthers in the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, Swayman remains optimistic and cherishes the memories of the historic season. He expressed his enthusiasm, saying,

"It was the most enjoyable time I've ever had playing hockey, thanks to my incredible teammates and the unwavering support of our fanbase. The experience we gained this year is invaluable, and I'm eager to move forward as part of this young core group that has the potential to achieve remarkable feats. Our ultimate goal wasn't realized, but it serves as a tremendous motivation for the summer, and I can't wait to witness our response in the upcoming season."

In addition to his bond with his teammates, Swayman shares a special connection with Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery, as they both played college hockey at the University of Maine. Montgomery, who captained the Black Bears to the 1993 National Championship, holds a place of reverence for Swayman. "There's an instant connection between Black Bears," Swayman revealed. "He had a few years on me at Maine and created his own legacy there. It's truly remarkable to have a living legend like him in the locker room every day. The bond we share is unique, and it adds an extra layer of significance to our relationship."

As a Boston player, Swayman is accustomed to seeing a strong presence of Black Bear alumni in the stands. He marveled at the widespread support, stating, "It's quite amusing when you scan the crowd during each game. Among the sea of Bruins jerseys, you spot a few Boston University ones, but then you see 15 to 20 Maine jerseys. It's incredible to witness the vast reach of the Maine fanbase. Numerous Black Bear alumni make the trip to Boston for every single game, and as a former Black Bear playing for the Bruins, it's a truly special experience to feel that unwavering support."

Swayman plans to spend the remainder of the offseason in New England, preparing for his offseason workouts as he gears up for the challenges of the upcoming season
