The Bruins' gift to for Don DelNegro shows just how appreciated the trainer was.

DelNegro has been the Head Athletic Trainer of the Boston Bruins for the past 29 years. He announced earlier this season that this would be his last with the organization.

DelNegro will be retiring at the end of the campaign and hope to be spending more time with his loved ones, as well as playing as much golf as possible.

The trainer's love for the game of golf seems to be a well-known fact within the B's organization, as the boys had a few chirps for his game and a pretty unreal golf-themed retirement gift lined up for him.

As per the Bruins website, here's a little more info on the Head Athletic Trainer's background.

Don DelNegro is in his 29th season as the team's Head Athletic Trainer. Prior to joining the Bruins, he spent five years at Williams College as the Director of Sports Medicine.

He has also served as the head athletic trainer for the U.S. Olympic Bobsled and Luge teams at the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville, France; for Team USA at the 2000, 2005 and 2007 World Hockey Championship and as head trainer for the U.S. men's hockey team at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, Italy.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Westfield State University, where he was a 2011 inductee into that school's Hall of Fame, and a Master of Science degree in the same field from Indiana State University. He was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Westfield State University in 2013.

Talk about a résumé!

We wish Don nothing but the best once he retires at the end of the postseason run.
